BCG’s screening test depends on your office. Here is what BCG’s own careers pages say. ### US, undergraduate The CCA first, then a select group gets the online case (~35 minutes) about 2 weeks after the deadline UseThis guide, plus the free [CCA guide](https://strategycase.com/bcg-consulting-career-assessment/) ### US, MBA The CCA, then the online case (~40 minutes) for everyone except a first-choice Canadian office UseThis guide ### Australia and New Zealand The online case first, then a numerical test for the shortlist UseThis guide ### United Kingdom A short numerical assessment Use[BCG Cognitive Test Practice](https://strategycase.com/bcg-cognitive-test-practice/), $19 ### Germany, Austria, Switzerland A 30-minute cognitive test: numerical, verbal, logical, no aids Use[BCG Cognitive Test Practice](https://strategycase.com/bcg-cognitive-test-practice/), $19 ### Anywhere else Check your invitation. BCG runs no single global online test UseThe free [BCG online assessment overview](https://strategycase.com/bcg-online-assessment/) Source: BCG careers pages for each country, checked October 2026. [Get instant access for $54 →](https://strategycase.com/shop?add-to-cart=8275) An honest note ## Already Practicing Cases? The online case tests the same skills as a live case: structure, charts, math, and a clear recommendation. What’s different is the format: no interviewer to steer you, answer types you won’t see in a live case, a clock, and, candidates report, a recommendation you record on video. One buyer put it well: > “If you already prepare for cases, all the skills overlap so you could likely also do without it but it helps to work through the practice tests with the time pressure and everything.” ***Anastasia** · Verified buyer* If the format is what worries you, this is for you. If your case skills are the gap, start with the [Case Interview Academy](https://strategycase.com/case-interview-academy/). Honest fit check ## Is This Right for You? ### Built for - US and Australia/New Zealand applicants who got, or expect, the online case - US MBA applicants, since BCG sends nearly all of them the online case - Candidates new to case interviews who need the basics fast - Anyone who wants to rehearse the format under time pressure ### Not the right fit if - You’re applying in the UK, Germany, Austria, or Switzerland. Your test is numerical or cognitive: use the [BCG Cognitive Test Practice](https://strategycase.com/bcg-cognitive-test-practice/). - Your case skills are the gap, not the format. Start with the [Case Interview Academy](https://strategycase.com/case-interview-academy/). Seok-ho Verified Buyer June 1, 2024 The guide includes everything, maybe too long. Practice tests are very hard and much like the online case. 2. Grace Verified Buyer December 4, 2023 I got it last week and it provided great aid in going through the Casey assessment. 3. Anastasia Verified Buyer November 5, 2023 Offers concrete tips for taking the Casey. The goal of the guide is to prepare you for the different questions and tasks and improve your skills and it does a good job in this regard. If you already prepare for cases, all the skills overlap so you could likely also do without it but it helps to work through the practice tests with the time pressure and everything. 4. G.D. Verified Buyer September 24, 2023 if you are serious about your BCG application this guide is a no brainer. It lays out everything you need to do in a simple manner. I did very well on the assessment. I am giving 4/5 because a bit more practice would be great. 5. Arianna Verified Buyer July 31, 2023 Great advice and practice for the BCG chatbot. It lays out the right preparation and test strategies clearly. The visual design of the practice tests is a bit different but the flow and questions were exactly like in the real chatbot test. The guide breaks the online case into its question types and the skills behind them, and the practice cases follow the same flow. [More about me](https://strategycase.com/about/) FAQ ## Frequently Asked Questions What exactly do I get for $54? A 123-page guide (PDF, yours to keep) and 5 practice cases with answers and explanations. You get 1 year of access to the practice cases and free updates. Will I get the online case? It depends on your office. BCG’s careers pages say US MBA applicants get it (except a first-choice Canadian office), a select group of US undergraduates get it after the CCA, and Australia and New Zealand send it to eligible applicants first. The UK uses a numerical test, and Germany, Austria, and Switzerland use a cognitive test. How long is the BCG online case? BCG says about 35 minutes for US undergraduates and about 40 minutes for US MBA applicants. Candidates report 8 to 10 questions ending in a short recorded recommendation. Is it the same as the CCA or the cognitive test? No. The CCA combines a behavioral profile with numerical reasoning, and the cognitive test is a timed reasoning test. Use the free [CCA guide](https://strategycase.com/bcg-consulting-career-assessment/) or the [BCG Cognitive Test Practice](https://strategycase.com/bcg-cognitive-test-practice/). Are the practice cases as hard as the real one? Buyers say they’re at least as hard. One called them “very hard and much like the online case”; another found them “more difficult than the real casey I received.” I already practice cases. Do I need this? Maybe not. The skills overlap with live cases. What the guide adds is the format: the answer types, the clock, and the recorded recommendation, rehearsed in 5 practice cases. Is it up to date? The guide is in its 5th edition, from July 2023, and covers the recorded video recommendation. BCG’s 2026 careers pages still describe the same online case, and some 2026 candidates report receiving it through a new platform (HireQuotient). Updates are free for a year after purchase. How long do I have access? 1 year to the practice cases. The PDF guide is yours to keep. What if it’s not right for me? Email info@strategycase.com within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund, no questions asked. ## Practice the Format Before It Counts Get StrategyCase’s BCG Online Case Guide and 5 practice cases for $54 and rehearse every question type before your invitation arrives.
