Is it only useful for McKinsey?
No. Most of the course is firm-agnostic: how fit is scored, every question type, storytelling, delivery, and difficult questions apply to BCG, Bain, Tier-2 firms, the Big 4, and in-house strategy teams. The firm-specific deep dive is McKinsey’s PEI, because it is the most structured fit format.
McKinsey renamed the PEI dimensions in 2025. Is the course still current?
Yes. In summer 2025 McKinsey renamed the four dimensions to Leadership, Connection, Growth, and Drive (formerly Inclusive Leadership, Personal Impact, Courageous Change, and Entrepreneurial Drive). What each dimension assesses did not change, and that is what the PEI module teaches.
My interview is in a few days. Is it too late?
No. At about 5 hours, you can watch the core lessons in two or three sittings, then spend the rest of your time writing and rehearsing your own stories against the sample answers. That rehearsal is where most of the improvement happens.
Should I take the Masterclass or book coaching?
The Masterclass teaches the method: how fit is scored, how to build stories around the traits firms test, and how to deliver them. Coaching takes your actual stories and pressure-tests them with the follow-ups a real interviewer would ask, then tells you exactly what to fix. If you are early, start with the Masterclass. It was a solid experience. The content was well made and quick to follow. The course covers key aspects of preparing for fit interviews and offers tips and examples that were actionable. I appreciated the sections on connecting with your interviewer and how to build a strong story narrative.
However, I would have given it 5 stars if there had been more differentiation in strategies tailored to other consulting firms. There is a strong McKinsey-focused section but similar firm-specific content for other firms would have made the course even more comprehensive.
