What Management Consulted does well
Credit where it is due. A few things genuinely stand out.
- Real credibility. The coaches include people who worked at MBB firms, which matters for advice quality.
- Breadth of support. Few competitors cover as much of the funnel, from resume to case to offer negotiation, in one place.
- Structure and hand-holding. The bootcamp model gives anxious candidates a clear, intensive path rather than a pile of resources to self-organize.
- Established brand. Years in the market mean a large content library, plenty of third-party reviews, and a track record you can check before buying.
If your main problem is that you feel lost and want someone to hand you a complete, guided program, this is a legitimate strength.
Where Management Consulted falls short
The trade-offs are just as real.
- Non-consulting management team: Non-consulting management team with limited exposure to the current consulting landscape and market, sometimes reflected in an offering that feels disconnected from today’s case interview formats. Some of their workshops are also run by people without any consulting experience as described by my clients.
- Premium pricing. MC sits at the higher end of the market. Coaching and bootcamps run into the hundreds and thousands, which is a lot if your gap is narrow.
- Traditional, framework-forward approach. The teaching leans on the classic framework style. Leaning on memorized frameworks and older case libraries is exactly what trips candidates up once a real case goes off-script.
Here is my view from the other side of the table. Having spend five years at McKinsey, then conducting more than 2,200 mock cases, I can tell you the firms do not reward how many bootcamp hours you logged. They reward whether you can structure a problem you have never seen and reason through it cleanly.
Intensity is not the same as the right skill, and a premium price does not guarantee the second one.
Is Management Consulted worth it?
It depends entirely on your gap and your budget.
It is worth it if you want a guided, intensive program across the whole recruiting process, you value hand-holding, and the premium price is not a stretch. For a candidate who is lost and wants structure handed to them, that package has value.
It is probably not worth it if your gap is narrow, for example just case math or just structuring, or if budget is tight. Paying premium bootcamp prices to fix a single skill is poor value when a focused course or a couple of coaching sessions would do the job for less.

If you fall into one of these buckets, compare before you commit:
- You want a skill-first method, not frameworks. Look for a program built around the core consulting case skills: structuring any problem from first principles, brainstorming with creativity, chart and data interpretation, case interview math.
- You are price-sensitive. A one-time course plus one coaching session usually beats a premium bootcamp on value.
- Your gap is specific. Target the exact weakness with drills or focused coaching rather than a broad program.
